Having period problems and chronic pain can be confusing, isolating and something that knocks us viciously off track every month. That no longer needs to be the way for you.

A bit about my personal story and how I created this work…
Throughout school and into my 20s and early 30s I suffered with debilitating period pain every month, as well as other chronic conditions like hip pain, skin problems, and regular anxiety.
I had to call in sick to work regularly. I was fainting in bathrooms, missing sports, and it was impacting my relationships. I was confused and lost in life as a result.
To be honest with you, I hated having a menstrual cycle, and I found being a woman really hard. I tried to get help but I felt misunderstood by medical professionals.
Like many women, I tried the pill and other medications but I got so many side effects. I eventually became fed up and decided to take matters into my own hands. I began researching everything I could find on periods and hormones.
I changed my diet and lifestyle and it worked for a few months. But it wasn’t enough. It was too stressful to keep up and eventually stopped working.
I then discovered Menstrual Cycle Awareness and tracking my cycle but that too wasn’t enough for the level of pain and darkness I was experiencing.
I read books and took lots of courses. I went to therapy, acupuncture, hypnotherapy. Even a shamanic healer! It felt like I knew all the information but I was struggling to embody it and heal my pain.
I even tried surgery for endometriosis, twice, and got some results. But the pain eventually came back. They said I experienced the placebo effect, which I became very suspicious about.
Everything I tried helped a little, but nothing was giving me lasting results. Every time my period was due, I was still anxious and afraid to leave the house.
It felt like — I wasn’t doing enough, doing it all wrong, or missing something.
It was during this time that I also began to take holistic coaching courses, trauma training, skills-based qualifications, and began working with a brilliant supervisor and mentor.
I started to work with 1:1 clients and run women’s circles on the side, teaching them about all the things I was learning because I knew they were helpful and I loved the work.
Over time, my clients began to get amazing results and regular experiences of being symptom-free, but I myself was still stuck with pain most months.
I said to my partner, “I really need to find a Lisa in my life... Someone who does what I do, but for ME!”
I wanted the same results my clients were getting.
It was then that I discovered a huge missing piece in my healing process that went a layer deeper, and it had nothing to do with adding more items onto my self-care list or changing my diet.
Rather, it was all about how to weave all the pieces of the puzzle together using multiple lenses I was working with in my client practice. I practiced it and over time I became really skilled at it.
In professional speak — I needed to weave a pain science lens, a trauma-informed lens, a nervous system and endocrine system lens, with a systemic anti-oppressive lens along with my own specialised coaching skills.
This approach has now become my very own modality and body of work, bringing fantastic results to my clients and students in just a few sessions.
I myself have successfully healed my own period pain and chronic symptoms with so much more ease than ever before! And when challenges arise, I know what to do and trust myself wholeheartedly.
I’m actually pinching myself as I write this.
When my period comes, I don’t have to cancel plans, I can go to the gym, I enjoy my social life, I travel with ease, eat what I want, and it doesn’t impact my relationship like it used to.
I have now worked with 100s of clients in my 1:1 programmes, groups, my work has been featured across the media, and I now teach professionals in my professional training programme at the Menstrual Coach Academy.
